21 days of my metabolism makeover is done

In the past 21 days I have been making over my metabolism with my food lovers program and I have lost 9.8 pounds and 10 inches. Matthew even lost 10 pounds and around 10 inches as well. I have also been dealing with sick kids and myself.

I am so sorry I have been neglecting you all.

This is a fabulous program I really dont feel like I am on a diet at all. I eat every 2 to 3 hours and just make sure I have a fast carb, slow carb, and a protein 3 meals a day.  I am doing a workout daily as well so I am working my heart which is a good thing!

I do not have craving for chocolate or pepsi anymore because my body is completely satisfied with eating every few hours.  Not have those cravings are so freeing, not letting food control me anymore is amazing.  I will not allow food to define me anymore, I will always be a food addict I understand that but with these tools I can stay in control of it and not let it control me.

I have 9.8 down and now have about  60 more to go! I am already down one jean size this month my hope is to get into some of my pre Emalynn Capri's!  Keep the faith you can do it!

Loving this!!!!

Matthew and I have got into the food lovers and are loving it!!!  I am NEVER hungry and feel like all I ever do it eat, eat, and eat. We are getting used to the fat lose plate its kinda weird we are eating everything we usually eat just in a new different way. Today we learned that you need to eat breakfast within an hour of getting up because it breaks the fast of the night.  I am not a morning eater so for those like us the program suggests we eat a small snack and then 2 to 3 hours later eat your breakfast.  So my plan is to drink my coffee and have a small half of bagel with cream cheese, which is considered a snack on food lovers, then have my breakfast of oatmeal with some type of fruit after I get back from taking Krysta to school.

Did you know that there are 12 things that hide in our favorite snack foods that can sabotage getting your body into a fat burning mode. If you want to get your metabolism working at its optimum levels you need to try and minimize these items. Its ok to eat these items if its not in the top 4 ingredients.   These items are sugar (sucrose), high fructose corn syrup, Brown sugar, Dextrose, maltose, corn syrup, malt syrup, maple syrup, maltitol (sugar alcohol), Maltitol syrup (sugar alcohol), modified corn starch, and corn starch.  Now dont freak out its only for 21 days. All it takes is 21 days to take your body from a fat storing to a fat burning machine.  We are learning that small adjustments to what we are already doing is going to be the push that my body needs to get going on the right track of losing the extra pounds.

When we fail at losing weight we blame ourselves for not being strong enough or having the willpower to say no to what you are craving or binging. Did you know the true problem is that when you go 4 to 5 hours without eating you will become so hungry that you cant control it anymore.  I know this sounds like an excuse but think about it when you go that long without eat do you get to the point of I don't care what I eat I just need to get something in my body.  Its all about being hungry not your lack of willpower.

Did you also know that 64% of people who keep a food journal are successful with taking the weight off as well as keeping it off.  The reason is because you see what you have been eating and will be able to see look back see what weeks worked the best and which ones you could have done better.  Then you can make changes as needed to reach your weight loss goal.

Remember don't get discouraged you can do it just stay the course!!!

New day!

The morning started out kinda overcast and rainy but I am here to tell you the sun has come out and its a beautiful afternoon.

Yesterday Matthew and I picked up our protein shake mix. I know what you all are thinking those are gross and taste like chalk. This one is very yummy!!!  Its from Jay Robb and we get the vanilla then make a smoothie out of it. We add all kinds of berries with some ice and bam you have a very tasty low fat high protein snack!  My wonderful Mother-in-law bought us a smoothie maker some years ago and let me tell you it is getting used to its fullest!

With the program we are using it teaches you fast carbs, slow carbs, and protein. I have learned there are fast carbs and slow carbs even in the fruit family.  When eating you need to have one of each on your plate.  So for out smoothies my favorite is strawberry (fast carb), blueberries (slow carb), and the protein mix (protein).  It really is making me think about the way I eat in a whole new way.

I am hoping that starting now we can teach the girls how to eat properly and they wont have problems with food/ weight that my family has.  Matthew has always know he has been an emotional eater and we are hoping that taking Krysta and Emalynn, when she is older, running will help show her there are other ways of dealing with stress and disappointments then just sitting down eating anything and everything in site.

Ok I guess its time for me to sign off Emalynn is trying to turn the computer off and I really do not want to have to rewrite this because she succeeds.

Im back!

Today I went to the Doctor and got some meds to help me get better and finally kick this sinus/cold crap. I was told no running till I was better because of my inflammation in my lungs from the cold (happens all the time since I have asthma).  So I should be back out running in 3 to 5 days.

I ordered myfoodlovers.com kit Friday so hopefully by the time I start running again that will be here. I am looking forward to doing this program. It has been very successful for my parents and it should be just what I need to kick my metabolism into fat burning instead of fat storing. My mom has lost 7 lbs and 23 1/2 inches in 21 days.  I am hoping to have a similar result while doing this.

One of the reason we have decided to do this program is that while I am there over the summer it would be much easier for all of us to be on the same program then mom or I trying to figure out what the other would need portion size wise.  Getting started now is very important so Matthew can get used to cooking in this way so while I am working he can maintain this and not gain tons of weight.  His idea of eating while I am gone is well frozen pizzas, sandwiches, and other frozen meals.

My wonderful Mother-in-law has started to walk/run on her treadmill and is seeing results she has lost some of the weight that has been plaguing her for months now I would like to congratulate her here in my blog!  Keep up the great work Beth!! Maybe next year we can go run a 5k together!!!  I wish it could be this year but I have to work this summer :-(  I really miss hanging out with you!

Tonight we are trying a new recipe using pork and apples with brown sugar and cinnamon as the seasonings I'll have to let you know how it turns out!  Till then have a wonderful night I must go get Krysta from school and do some last minute Birthday shopping for my wonderful Husband Matthew!

day oh i dont know

I know I have been absent for a week, I apologize for that. I will not make excuses I got out of the habit of blogging and today I am back to it.

We  went to my parent for the weekend and had a wonderful time but I brought home a horrible cold and have been pretty much on the couch since we got home.  I haven't weighed in so I am not sure if I am maintaining or gaining. I am going to get well first then hit it hard again.

Its snowing here and here in the Pacific Northwest when it snows everything closes down. So there is no school today. Its ok cause Krysta is getting my cold and so it gives her down day to hopefully kick this cold. So we are having a jammy day.

While I was at my parents house I did go walk 2 miles, I did try and run but my leg is still hurting so I just walked.  This weather is not helping my muscle either its crapping up and makes it the pain worse.

My parents have found an eating plan that teaches you how to eat the right portions and how to put food together to optimize your metabolism and Matthew and I are really thinking we may start that plan as well.  The program is 150 so we are trying to put the money aside to get it.  The program can be found at myfoodlovers.com  My mom has already lost 17 pounds and loves it because she can eat everything but it teaches you portion control.

Day 18 of my battle

I have been battling with being discouraged and I have instead of posting them here been shutting myself off from the world.  I am frustrated with the fact I am doing everything right but not losing a darn pound.  At the same time I watch my husband who has only cut out Dr. Pepper, salad dressing, cutting back on portions sizes and lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks. Yes that is right 15 pounds in 14 days UGH so annoying and frustrating I could scream.  So here I am with my 3.6 pounds lost and working my butt off exercising, giving up on my most favorite foods and down in the dumps....  my leg hurts, I'm frustrated, and annoyed with my husbands happy happy joy joy moment of I only need to lose 2 more pounds and I am back in regulations....

I looked at the banana split table on Tuesday and I am up 1lb... I didn't even eat any of it and I am up.. UGH I am hating life and I am hating trying to get healthy when I am not even seeing any results!  I should have just ate the darn thing and then would have a reason to be up.... *sigh* yes I know I am whining and need to get over it but I still needed to vent.. get the negative thoughts out then maybe I can get back on track of losing.

I am going to my parents house this weekend and hopefully seeing my mom and dad on their journey as well will give me some hope that this will end.  I can at least say I haven't gone off my healthy eating to wallow in self pity! YAY point for me UGH....

Ok I am off to be down and out with laundry and packing..... Everyone have a great Friday!

Don't give up Raelynn stay the course!!!

Day 12 of my battle

Im sorry this post is late last night was a rough night. I was upset and mad about hurting my leg and was not in the frame of mind to post.  Matthew rubbed out my leg and it feels a little better as long as I am not on it.  So I am not going to run but I will continue to walk and do my other cardio work out as long as I its not hurting to bad.

Yesterday I went to Krysta's class Valentine's party and I succeed in not indulging in the banana splits.  I took my water and we have a grand time not eating.  It felt so good not feeling guilty about eating it.  My will power is getting better and better and that excites me.

This morning I went to the commissary and by the time I was done I was feeling my leg but I will not let this stop my weight loss. I will be more diligent on my portions and be extra careful about the what I eat.  That means more extra lean meats like chicken and pork instead of beef.

When injuries happen its easy to go down the path of feeling sorry for yourself and give up on your weight loss goals I am here to tell you don't defeat yourself, don't give up on being healthy. Injuries come and go but your health is important.  Stay the course and you will see the results.

I am starting to be more inventive with my foods, for instants our salads today I put 2 hard boiled eggs, with pinch of cheese, sliced strawberries, and blueberries, carrots and of course lettuce.   I am satisfied and I don't feel weighed down.

I am staying the course not letting this injury get me down!
